Edoardo Gabbriellini (born 16 July 1975) is an Italian actor, screenwriter, and director.

Life and career

Born inLivorno, at 18 years old Gabbriellini was chosen byPaolo Virzì to star in his filmOvosodo. For his performance he won the Pasinetti Award for best actor at the54th edition of theVenice International Film Festival, and subsequently left his studies to devote himself to acting.[1]

After directing the music video for the song "Tre parole" byValeria Rossi, Gabbriellini made his feature film directorial debut in 2003 with the comedy-dramaB.B. e il cormorano, which was screened in theInternational Critics' Week section of theCannes Film Festival.[1][2]

His third feature filmHoliday premiered at the2023 Toronto International Film Festival.[3] The film is about a 20-year-old girl who is cleared of murder charges and reunites with her best friend, still being haunted by the visions of a brutal death of her mother and her boyfriend.[4][5]
