Edmund Audley[a] (died 1524) wasBishop of Rochester,Bishop of Hereford andBishop of Salisbury.
Audley graduatedBA in 1463 atUniversity College, Oxford. He was appointed to the seventh stall inSt George's Chapel, Windsor Castle in 1474 and held this until 1480.[1]
Audley was collated asArchdeacon of the East Riding on 14 December 1475[2] and then asArchdeacon of Essex on 22 December 1479,[3] serving until he was nominated to becomeBishop of Rochester on 7 July 1480, and consecrated on 1 October 1480.[4] He was then translated to beBishop of Hereford on 22 June 1492.[5][6] He was then translated to becomeBishop of Salisbury on 10 January 1502.[7][8][9] He died on 23 August 1524.[7]
Audley was the son ofEleanor Holand.[10] He is buried in a chapel ofSalisbury Cathedral.[11]
