Edle Hartmann (11 March 1862 – 29 June 1946) was a Norwegian writer.
She was born inLarvik[1] toGudbrand Helenus Hartmann and Fredrikke Dorothea Christiane Michelet,[2] and was a sister of jurist and publicistEgil Olaf Hartmann.[1] She was married to jurist and civil servantFrederik Beichmann from 1885 to 1889.[3] Among their children was Major GeneralJohan Didrik Schlömer Beichmann.[4] In 1900 she married barrister and politicianAnnæus Johannes Schjødt.[2]
She wrotefeuilletons for the newspapersVerdens Gang andAftenposten, using the pseudonym "Sfinx". Two collections with her newspaper articles were published asVi og voreses (1899) andHjemme og gadelangs (1900). She further published the collectionFif og halvfif in 1902, illustrated byOlaf Gulbransson. In 1903 she publishedBlandet selskab, also illustrated by Gulbransson.[1]
