Edinburgh Peak is the highestmountain inGough Island,South Atlantic Ocean.[1]

This 902 m (2,959 ft)[1] high peak is the highest point of a ridge that runs in a roughly NW/SE direction in the central area of Gough Island.[2] Slightly lower Expedition Peak is located close to it.[3] The island is part of theTristan da Cunha Archipelago, an outlying territory of theUnited Kingdom.[4] The mountain is anextinct volcano which erupted about 2,400 years ago.[5][6]
