Eddie Faulkner (born October 20, 1977) is an Americanfootball coach who is currently the running backs coach for thePittsburgh Steelers of theNational Football League (NFL).

Playing career

Faulkner playedcollege football atWisconsin from 1996 to 2000. He was atailback, compiling 1,064 yards and seven touchdowns over his career. After his college career was over, he signed a pro contract with thePittsburgh Steelers before going on to play for theEdmonton Eskimos.[1]

Coaching career

After his playing career was over, he started coaching atAnderson University as a running backs coach before moving on toBall State.

Ball State

Faulkner joined the coaching staff atBall State as a graduate assistant in 2003, working all the way up to offensive coordinator in 2009. He was named the interim head coach in 2010 after Stan Parrish was fired.[2]

Northern Illinois

Faulkner left Northern Illinois to accept an assistant coaching position atPittsburgh before leaving Pittsburgh to take a position at his alma materWisconsin.[3]

Wisconsin

Faulkner was named the tight ends coach at his alma materWisconsin in 2012.[4]

NC State

Faulkner left Wisconsin after one season to accept a position atNC State as a tight ends and fullbacks coach, and special teams coordinator.[1]

Pittsburgh Steelers

Faulkner was named the running backs coach for thePittsburgh Steelers on January 17, 2019.[5] After the firing of offensive coordinatorMatt Canada on November 21, 2023, quarterbacks coachMike Sullivan was designated as the team's primary play-caller for the remainder of the season, with Faulkner taking over as interim offensive coordinator.[6]
