Eclipes is anextinctgenus of prehistoric marineray-finned fish that lived off the coast of western North America during theLate Miocene.[1] It was a member of theGadidae, making it closely related to moderncods andhaddocks. The several species known from this genus inhabited deep waters in what is now theLos Angeles Basin ofsouthern California.[2]
