Echoes is a Japaneserecord label andtalent agency owned bySony Music Labels, a subsidiary ofSony Music Entertainment Japan.[1] Self-described as "a label that resonates with the expression of music and art", it was founded on September 12, 2024, by Taichi Hirose, Shuya Yamamoto, Yohei Yashiro, and Mitsuki Hirabayashi, and the current representative is Manabu Tsujino. The label's notable artist includesYoasobi,Aooo,Asmi, andTatsuya Kitani, among others.
A new record label and talent agency Echoes was first mentioned on the press release of CMO Japan Summit 2024 published on July 26, 2024, which called speakers Shuya Yamamoto and Yohei Yashiro "Echoes producer".[2] On September 12,Sony Music Entertainment Japan formally announced a launch of Echoes, alongside revealing the label's first three artists—duoYoasobi, musical project Maisondes, and rock bandAooo, as well as being in charge of developing music platform Mecre.[3] The label was founded by Taichi Hirose, Shuya Yamamoto, Yohei Yashiro, and Mitsuki Hirabayashi.[4] Echoes aims to "focus on discovering artists who resonate with them, further increasing the diversity of the label and releasing works by new talents" to "reverberate, respond, and grow beyond all boundaries."[5]
Besides musicians, illustrator and animator Ai Nina and character Puppet Sunsun also joined the label.[6][7] On March 14, 2025, Echoes partnered with manga magazineWeekly Shōnen Sunday to launch a project called "Nichimezo" (日曜日のメゾンデ,Nichiyōbi no Mezonde;lit. 'Maisondes of Monday') as a sub-unit of Maisondes to contribute songs based on manga published onWeekly Shōnen Sunday andSunday Webry.[8] Since April 1, 2025, Sony Japan transferred Yashiro from Echoes toMusic Ray'n for becoming a representative director,[9] and appointed Manabu Tsujino to be a representative of Echoes.[10]
The first event held by Echoes was Echoes Baa, a stage part of Central Music & Entertainment Festival 2025, on April 5 and 6, at Red Brick Park Special Venue inYokohama Red Brick Warehouse.[11] Besides the original joined artists, the line-up included newly label-joined duo Nomelon Nolemon and singerAsmi and other acts Kafuné, Syudou, Louv, Chevon, Tomoo, andFruits Zipper.[12] In addition to the stage, it had activities like DJ sets, workshops, and several new forms of entertainment experiences, as well as pop-up store Echoes Maaket.[13]
