TheEast Asian Games was amulti-sport event organized by theEast Asian Games Association and held every four years from1993 to2013. Among those who competed included athletes fromEast Asian countries and territories of theOlympic Council of Asia, as well as the Pacific island nation ofGuam, which is a member of theOceania National Olympic Committees.

The East Asian Games was one of five subregional Games of theOlympic Council of Asia. The others are theCentral Asian Games, theSouth Asian Games, theSoutheast Asian Games, and theWest Asian Games.[1]

It ended after the2013 tournament, the games later transforming intoEast Asian Youth Games, with Mongolia's Ulaanbaatar hosting theinaugural edition.

Participating nations

All 8 countries whoseNational Olympic Committee is recognized by the East Asian Games Association and 1 country whoseNational Olympic Committee is recognized by theOceania National Olympic Committees.

Kazakhstan is a former member of the EAGA.[2] It now participates in theCentral Asian Games.
