Dylan Teuns (born 1 March 1992) is aBelgian professional roadracing cyclist, who currently rides forUCI WorldTeamCofidis.[7][8]

Born inDiest inFlemish Brabant, Teuns is based inHalen inLimburg.[1]

BMC Racing Team (2015–18)

He originally joinedBMC Racing Team as astagiaire[1] in 2014 before being announced as part of the team's line-up for the 2015 season.[9] He was named in the start list for the2016 Vuelta a España[10] and the start list for the2017 Giro d'Italia.[11]

In July 2017, Teuns won theTour de Wallonie, also winning two stages and the points classification alongside his overall success.[12] Teuns then took overall victory in theTour de Pologne. The following month, he won theArctic Race of Norway, again winning two individual stages and the points classification.

Bahrain–Merida (2019–2022)

After four years with theBMC Racing Team, Teuns joined theBahrain–Merida team for the 2019 season.[3] In July 2019, he was named in the startlist for the2019 Tour de France.[13] Teuns won stage 6 of the race, outsprinting fellow breakaway riderGiulio Ciccone at the summit finish onLa Planche des Belles Filles.[14]

During the2021 Tour de France, Teuns took his second Tour de France stage victory, winning the eighth stage of the race.[15] On the final climb of the day, theCol de la Colombière, Teuns caught up with the solo leaderMichael Woods and ultimately dropped him before the top of the ascent. Behind Teuns,Tadej Pogačar had attacked out of the peloton and was chasing down the riders in front of him.[16] Pogačar closed to within 15 seconds of Teuns, but did not risk catching him on the descent on wet roads intoLe Grand-Bornand.[17]

After competing in theVolta a la Comunitat Valenciana and theVolta a Catalunya stage races in the first quarter of the 2022 season,[18][19] Teuns' focus shifted to the Classics. After taking top-ten finishes at theTour of Flanders (sixth),[20] theAmstel Gold Race (tenth),[21] andBrabantse Pijl (eighth),[22] Teuns took his first one-day race victory atLa Flèche Wallonne.[23] Teuns made his move on the final ascent of theMur de Huy, and managed to hold off five-time race winnerAlejandro Valverde to become the first Belgian to win the race sincePhilippe Gilbert in2011.[24][25]
