Justin David Armbruester (born October 21, 1998) is an American professionalbaseballpitcher in theNew York Mets organization.
Armbruester attendedEastside Catholic School inSammamish, Washington, and played on their baseball team.[1] He played two years ofcollege baseball atPacific Lutheran University before playing two seasons at theUniversity of New Mexico.[2] During his senior year in 2021, he started 13 games and went 5–2 with a 3.58 ERA and 101 strikeouts over 77 innings, and was named theMountain West Conference Pitcher of the Year.[3][4] He was selected by theBaltimore Orioles in the 12th round of the2021 Major League Baseball draft.[5]
Armbruester signed with the Orioles and made his professional debut with theFlorida Complex League Orioles before he was promoted to theDelmarva Shorebirds. Over9+1⁄3 innings, he posted a 1.93 ERA with 16 strikeouts.[6] He opened the 2022 season with theAberdeen IronBirds and was promoted to theBowie Baysox in mid-June.[7] Over 26 games (22 starts) between the two teams, he went 6–2 with a 3.85 ERA and 126 strikeouts over 117 innings.[8] Armbruester returned to Bowie to open the 2023 season and was promoted to theNorfolk Tides in mid-June. Over 26 games (25 starts) with the two teams, he went 6-6 with a 3.56 ERA and 109 strikeouts over121+1⁄3 innings.[9] He returned to Norfolk in 2024 and made 26 starts for the team, going 5-11 with a 7.54 ERA and 131 strikeouts over119+1⁄3 innings.[10] Armbruester appeared in three games for Norfolk in 2025 before being placed on the injured list.
On December 10, 2025, theNew York Mets selected Armbruester in the minor league phase of theRule 5 Draft.[11]

Clifford spent his first professional season with theFlorida Complex League Astros andFayetteville Woodpeckers. He started 2023 with Fayetteville.[15]
On August 1, 2023, Clifford was traded alongsideDrew Gilbert, to theNew York Mets in exchange forJustin Verlander.[16]

Collins attendedNorth Gwinnett High School inSuwanee, Georgia. As a junior, Collins hit .483 with 16 home runs, before committing to playcollege baseball at theUniversity of Georgia.[17][18] In 2022, he playedcollegiate summer baseball with theFalmouth Commodores of theCape Cod Baseball League.[19]
As a senior, Collins hit .354 with 20 home runs, in addition to leading the NCAA inon-base percentage.[20] He was named a second-team All-American at the end of the season.[21]
Collins was selected in the sixth round, with the 173rd overall pick, by theNew York Mets in the2024 Major League Baseball draft.[22][23]

Ewing attendedSpringboro High School inSpringboro, Ohio. As a senior in 2023, he hit .464 with 37 RBI.[24] He originally committed to playcollege baseball atWright State University, but later flipped to theUniversity of Alabama.[25] Ewing was selected by theNew York Mets in the fourth round of the2023 Major League Baseball draft.[26] He signed with the Mets for $675,000.[27]
Ewing made his professional debut after signing with theFlorida Complex League Mets, playing in seven games.[28] He played the 2024 season with the FCL Mets andSt. Lucie Mets, hitting .233 with ten home runs and 49 RBI over 90 games. Ewing opened the 2025 season with St. Lucie before being promoted to theBrooklyn Cyclones in May.[29] In August, he was promoted to theBinghamton Rumble Ponies.[30] Over 124 games between the three teams, Ewing hit .315 with three home runs, 55 RBI, and 70 stolen bases.[31]

Lavender attended El Paso–Gridley High School inEl Paso, Illinois, and playedcollege baseball atUniversity of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.[34] In 2019, he playedcollegiate summer baseball with theHyannis Harbor Hawks of theCape Cod Baseball League.[35] He was drafted by theNew York Mets in the 14th round of the2021 Major League Baseball draft.[36]
Hartwig made his professional debut with theFlorida Complex League Mets. In 2022, he played for theSt. Lucie Mets andBrooklyn Cyclones. He started 2023 with theBinghamton Rumble Ponies before being promoted to theSyracuse Mets.[37]
On May 17, 2024, Lavender underwent a variation ofTommy John surgery in which an internal brace was added to his elbow ligament. He subsequently missed the remainder of the season as a result of the procedure.[38]
On December 11, 2024, Lavender was selected by theTampa Bay Rays eighth overall in theRule 5 draft.[39] He missed the entirety of the 2025 season in recovery from surgery. Lavender wasdesignated for assignment by the Rays on November 6, 2025.[40]
On November 12, 2025, Lavender was returned to the Mets organization.[41]

Ross attended Georgia Premier Academy inStatesboro, Georgia, and playedcollege baseball atEastern Kentucky University,Northwest Florida State College and theUniversity of Georgia. He underwentTommy John surgery during his junior year at Georgia in 2022. Despite the injury, he was selected by theNew York Mets in the 13th round (389th overall) of the2022 Major League Baseball draft.
After undergoing a second operation on hisUCL, Ross missed the 2023 season.[49] He made his professional debut in 2024, pitching in one game with theSt. Lucie Mets. After the season, he played in theArizona Fall League.[50] Ross started 2025 with the High-ABrooklyn Cyclones, and was promoted to the Double-ABinghamton Rumble Ponies and Triple-ASyracuse Mets during the season.
On September 27, 2025, Ross was selected to the40-man roster and promoted to the major leagues for the first time.[51] He did not appear for the Mets during the team's final two games of the season, and subsequently became aphantom ballplayer.

He played two seasons ofcollege baseball atBarton Community College before transferring toGrand Canyon University for the 2023 season. In his lone season at Grand Canyon, he started 15 games and went 9–2 with a 3.87 ERA.[54] After the season, he participated in theMLB Draft League.[55] He was then selected by theNew York Mets in the fifth round of the2023 Major League Baseball draft.[56] Thornton signed with the team for $350,000.[57]
Thornton made his professional debut in 2024 with theSt. Lucie Mets and was promoted to theBrooklyn Cyclones in August. Over twenty games (12 starts) between the two teams, he went 5–4 with a 4.10 ERA and 54 strikeouts over 68 innings. He returned to Brooklyn to open the 2025 season and was namedSouth Atlantic League Pitcher of the Month in April.[58] He was promoted to theBinghamton Rumble Ponies in late April and earnedEastern League Pitcher of the Week honors in May.[59] Thornton made 14 starts between the two teams, going 6-2 with a 1.98 ERA and 78 strikeouts over72+2⁄3 innings before an oblique injury ended his season in June.[60]

Calvin William Ziegler (born October 3, 2002) is a Canadian professionalbaseballpitcher in theNew York Mets organization.
Ziegler was born in Canada and attended TNXL Academy inOcoee, Florida, his senior year due to Canadian travel restrictions because of theCOVID-19 pandemic.[73][74] He was drafted by theNew York Mets in the second round of the2021 Major League Baseball draft.[75]
Ziegler made his professional debut in 2022 with theSt. Lucie Mets.[76] In 16 starts, he went 0–6 with a 4.44 ERA and 70 strikeouts across46+2⁄3 innings pitched.
In March 2023, Ziegler underwent surgery to removebone spurs from his right elbow.[77] While recovering from the procedure, he suffered a torn rightquadriceps tendon and was ruled out for the season.[78][79] However, on September 8, Ziegler was activated to make his season debut.[80]
Ziegler began the 2024 season with High-A Brooklyn. On April 18, 2024, it was revealed that Ziegler would undergo Tommy John surgery, ending his season.[81]
