Dylan Pierias (Macedonian:Дилан Пиеријас,romanizedDilan Pierijas,pronounced[ˈpi.e.ri.jas];[2] born 20 February 2000) is anAustralian professionalsoccer player who currently plays as awinger forAdelaide United in theA-League. He previously played football in the A-Leagues forMelbourne City,Western United, andWestern Sydney Wanderers.

Club career

Pierias began playing as a seven-year-old atKeilor Park SC, moving to Spring Hills as a teenager.[3]

Melbourne City

With eight first team players unavailable through suspension or injury, Pierias debuted for Melbourne City againstBrisbane Roar on 11 February 2017 at 16 years of age, making him the first person born in the 21st Century to play in the A-League.[4][5]

Western United

Pierias joinedWestern United for the2019–20 season,[6] the club's debut season in the league following their establishment in 2018. In May 2021, he signed a two-year contract extension with Western United.[7] Pierias was substituted on in the 89th minute in the winning2022 A-League Men Grand Final against his former club Melbourne City. ReplacingDylan Wenzel-Halls, Pierias was one of the eleven men for Western United onAAMI Park at the final whistle of the match. He departed Western United at the end of the2022-23 season after 4 seasons at the club, making 94 league appearances.[8]

Western Sydney Wanderers

Pierias joinedWestern Sydney Wanderers ahead of the2023–24 season.[9] Pierias played 26 games for the Wanderers and scored 3 goals in the 2023-24 season, but following a season in which the club failed to qualify for thefinals series, Pierias departed the club.[10]

Adelaide United

In June 2024, Pierias joined his fourthA-League club inAdelaide United[11] as a replacement for the recent departures ofCraig Goodwin,Nestory Irankunda, andBen Halloran. Pierias scored in his first match against his last club, Western Sydney, in an impressive 4–1 away win.[12] Primarily playing a defensive role on the wing, he scored twice more by the start of February, already equalling his goal tally of the previous season.

On 20 December 2025, Pierias was forced off through injury during a 1–0 win overPerth Glory. The club later confirmed that he had suffered a “significant knee injury”, which would rule him out until late 2026.[13]

International career

Born in Australia, Pierias is of Macedonian descent.[14] He helped theAustralia U-23 qualify for theTokyo 2020 Olympics. He was part of theOlyroos Olympic squad. The team beatArgentina in their first group match but were unable to win another match. They were therefore not in medal contention.[15]
