Duwayne Robert Dunham (born November 17, 1952) is an Americandirector[1] andeditor of film and television,[2][3] as well as an adjunct professor at theUSC School of Cinematic Arts.[4] He is best known for his collaborations withGeorge Lucas andDavid Lynch, serving as editor onReturn of the Jedi andBlue Velvet.[5] After being hired for Lynch's seriesTwin Peaks, he was promoted to director and made his debut with the second episode of the series.[6] He subsequently directed the filmsHomeward Bound: The Incredible Journey andLittle Giants,[7] and numerous television films for theDisney Channel includingHalloweentown,The Thirteenth Year,Ready to Run,Right on Track, andTiger Cruise. In 2018, he reunited with Lynch to edit all 18 episodes of theTwin Peaks: The Return revival series.[8]
During the 1978 San Anselmo Country Fair inSan Anselmo, California, Dunham became the first person to portrayStar Wars bounty hunterBoba Fett in the character's public debut.[9] Dunham had previously filmed a screen test of the Boba Fett costume.[10]
For his work onTwin Peaks, Dunham won aPrimetime Emmy Award in 1990.
