Durga Deulkar is anIndianeducationist andwriter.[1] She is a formerdirector ofLady Irwin College, Delhi (1961–1978).[2] She has writtenarticles[3] and has published books such asA guide to household textiles and laundry work,[4]Household textiles and laundry work[5] andAn approach to teaching in the basic schools of India, with special reference to home economics.[6] A recipient of a doctoral degree (PhD) from theCornell University, USA,[7] Deulkar received the fourth highest Indian civilian award ofPadma Shri by theGovernment of India in 1976.[8]
