TheDunedin City Council (Māori:Kaunihera ā-Rohe o Ōtepoti) is thelocal government authority forDunedin in New Zealand. It is aterritorial authority elected to represent the 132,800 people of Dunedin.[2] Since October 2022, theMayor of Dunedin isJules Radich, who succeededAaron Hawkins. The council consists of a mayor who is elected at large, and 14 councillors elected at large, one of whom gets chosen as deputy-mayor. The councillors are elected under theSingle Transferable Vote (STV) system in triennial elections, with themost recent election held on 8 October 2022.[3]

The council has created six localcommunity boards under the provisions of Part 4 of theLocal Government Act 2002,[9] each with six elected members and one councillor appointed by the council:
