In theUlster Cycle ofIrish mythology,Dubthach Dóeltenga ("chafer-tongue", anOld Irish term which meant "backbiting"[1]) was a cynical ally ofFergus mac Róich who rarely had a good word to say about anyone. He was responsible for the death of Conchobar's son, among others.[2] He later fought beside him in theTáin Bó Cuailnge, although at one point Fergus kicked him right out of the camp for his plans to killCú Chulainn.[3] He also appears inFled Bricrenn[4] andTogail Bruidne Dá Derga.[5]
