Dror Kashtan (Hebrew:דרור קשטן; 1 October 1944 – 15 January 2024) was an Israelifootball player and manager.[1]
Dror Kashtan was born inPetah Tikva during the BritishMandate for Palestine.[2]
As a player, he represented theIsrael national team three times.[2] As a manager, he took charge of numerous clubs[3] as well as theIsrael under-21 team, and the senior national team[4] in 2006–2010.[5]
Kashtan started out as a player forHapoel Petah Tikva. He was the only Israeli player to be called up to the full national team before playing a single match in league play.[3] In 1977, after playing forHapoel Kfar Saba, he became the team coach.[3]
Kashtan has been called the most successful manager of all time in Israeli football, with six championships, sixState Cups and threeToto Cups won under his direction.
