Hello, I have created this draft on Atsushi Ichijō, a Japanese motorcycle designer with an interesting legacy that I think many would consider important. The article is sourced and neutral and the photo was taken by me, and I’d appreciate any advice or review. Thanks!AndyKnowsAlot (talk)20:17, 29 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have tried to clean up my draft after feedback from reviewers. I added some more independent references and removed a couple that mainly explained the significance of the motorcycle.Although many sources focus primarily on the Yamaha Vmax rather than Ichijō personally, there are still multiple independent and reliable sources explicitly name him as the designer of the original Vmax and credit him with key conceptual input. I hope you agree that the subject therefore should be considered notable as the creator of a highly influential motorcycle model as well as many slightly lesser known.AndyKnowsAlot (talk)22:21, 1 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
After reviewer feedback on Sept 14, I managed to find some good additional japanese sources: an in depth interview on nettam.jp - The Toyota Arts Management information site, an extensive design story on the SRX600 from the official Yamaha website, the Good Design Award received in 2009 and also an interesting recent academic paper on wind turbine design. Please take another look when you have the time.AndyKnowsAlot (talk)21:36, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I now found an independent secondary source that I hope might bring the article closer to completion - A Motor-Fan profile describing Ichijo that specifically notes that Ichijō is recognized as a 'legend designer' even by rival manufacturers, and documents his participation as keynote speaker in industry events organized by competing companies like Kawasaki. I hope this cross-industry recognition from competitors demonstrates independent verification of his significance in the field, addressing previous notability concerns.AndyKnowsAlot (talk)19:43, 22 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
