Draddy Gymnasium is a 2,345-seat multi-purposearena inthe Bronx, New York. It is located on the campus ofManhattan University and is the home of theManhattan Jaspers athletic teams including men's and women's basketball and women's volleyball.[1] The building has the largest indoor track inNew York City.
Draddy Gymnasium was named in the honor of the first wife and first son of alumnusVincent dePaul Draddy, onetimequarterback at Manhattan University and later chairman of theCollege Football Hall of Fame.[2] Draddy's son, Vincent Jr., was killed in an automobile accident in 1953. His wife, Ruth, died in 1974.
The facility was featured in Season 1 ofThe Cosby Show, whereClifford Huxtable trains to get ready for a relay race rematch of former college acquaintances at theMeadowlands Arena.
