Douglas Quentin Adams is an American linguist, professor ofEnglish at theUniversity of Idaho and anIndo-European comparativist. He studied at theUniversity of Chicago, earning PhD in 1972. Adams is an expert onTocharian and a contributor on this subject to theEncyclopædia Britannica.
He has also co-authored two works onIndo-European culture andlanguages withJ. P. Mallory of theRoyal Irish Academy. He is a Linguistics Editor at theJournal of Indo-European Studies, founded byRoger Pearson.[1]
At the University of Idaho, Adams teaches courses onlinguistics, andgrammar andsemantics for theEnglish as a Second Language program.[2]
