Donald Graham Burt is an Americanproduction designer. He has worked on multiple films includingThe Joy Luck Club,Dangerous Minds, andDonnie Brasco, as well as withDavid Fincher onZodiac in2007.[1] In 2008, he designed the sets forThe Curious Case of Benjamin Button which won anAcademy Award forBest Art Direction in 2009,[2] anArt Directors Guild Award for Best Achievement in Art Direction,[3] and aBAFTA Film Award for Best Production Design,[4] along with receiving a nomination for aSatellite Award for Best Art Direction & Production Design.[5] In 2020, Burt won an Academy Award forDavid Fincher'sblack-and-white biographical drama filmMank.[6]

Burt is a 1976 graduate of Independence (Kansas) High School and studied art at the University of Arizona.[7]His father was a pastor and his mother was a homemaker. Before employment in the film industry, he worked as a night janitor in a smallscene shop inPhoenix.[8]
