Don Wee Boon Hong (Chinese:黄文鸿;pinyin:Huáng Wénhóng; born 1976)[1] is a Singaporean accountant and former politician. A member of the governingPeople's Action Party (PAP), he has been theMember of Parliament (MP) representing theBrickland division ofChua Chu Kang Group Representation Constituency since 2020.
Wee attendedNan Hua High School andNgee Ann Polytechnic.[2] After completing hisNational Service, Wee completed aBachelor of Accountancy degree as a part-time student.
He subsequently went on to complete aMaster of Business Administration degree at theNanyang Technological University and aMaster of Public Administration degree at theNational University of Singapore'sLee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.[2]
Wee had also taken an executive education programme atHarvard University'sJohn F. Kennedy School of Government.
Wee joined a local bank as a non-executive staff after completing his full-timeNational Service as an officer in theSingapore Army'sArmoured Regiment.[2] In 2020, Wee was reportedly a senior vice president atUnited Overseas Bank.[2] Wee is also a member of theInstitute of Mental Health's visitors' board.[2] Wee is also serving inNan Hua High School's school advisory committee and doing pro bono work with the Office of the Public Guardian. Wee was elected into the Council of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants in May 2019. Wee had worked atHSBC,OCBC Bank,Citibank andUnited Overseas Bank between 1998 and 2018.
He is a Chartered Accountant (Singapore), Fellow Certified Practising Accountant (CPA Australia) and ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountant. He also completed the Chartered Valuer and Appraiser Programme in 2018.
Wee was fielded in the2020 general election to contest inChua Chu Kang GRC on thePeople's Action Party's (PAP) ticket against theProgress Singapore Party.[3] Wee's running mates wereGan Kim Yong,Low Yen Ling andZhulkarnain Abdul Rahim.[3] On 11 July 2020, Wee was declared an elected Member of Parliament representing Chua Chu Kang GRC in the14th Parliament after the PAP team in Chua Chu Kang GRC garnered 58.64% of the valid votes.[4]
On 14 April 2025, it was announced that Wee will not contest the2025 general election.[5]
