Dominika Šalková (born 28 June 2004) is a Czechtennis player.She has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 129, achieved on 29 July 2024, by theWTA. She also has a career-high WTA doubles ranking of No. 147, achieved on 28 August 2023.[1]

Šalková made herWTA Tour singles main-draw debut at the2022 Prague Open, after defeatingAstra Sharma andNatalia Vikhlyantseva in qualifying.[2] She received a wildcard for the doubles main draw withBarbora Palicová.

She reached the top 150 on 10 June 2024 at world No. 143, following a sixth ITF Circuit title win at the W75 Prague Open.

2021-2024: WTA Tour debut, first ITF Circuit titles

In 2021, Šálková received qualification wildcard at her first WTA Tour eventPrague Open, but lost to former top 30 playerUrszula Radwańska.

In August 2021 Šálková reached her first ITF semifinal at home W60 tournament inPřerov, where she lost to eventual champion,Linda Nosková.

Šálková won her first singles title in May 2022, beating local hopeAntonia Ružić at the W25 in Osijek.

In June 2022 Šálková received her second qualification wildcard toPrague Open, but this time won two matches against former Top 100 playersAstra Sharma andNatalia Vikhlyantseva to make her WTA Tour main draw debut. She beatYlena In-Albon in straight sets to reach second round, where she lost to eventual champion and compatriotMarie Bouzková. She made her WTA Tour debut in doubles withBarbora Palicová, losing in the first round.

Šálková won two doubles titles on ITF circuit, finished 2022 season ranked as No. 317 in singles and No. 307 in doubles.

In June 2023 Šálková enteredPrague Open qualification as direct entry for the first time, but lost in the qualification final to 3rd seed and eventual semifinalistTamara Korpatsch. She received doubles wildcard withBarbora Palicová and scored her first main draw wins as they reached semifinal stage after beating top seedsZhang Shuai andZhu Lin.

Šálková won 3 singles titles and five doubles titles on ITF circuit in 2023, ending season ranked as No. 254 in singles and No. 161 in doubles.

In January 2024, Šálková entered her first qualifying for a Grand Slam tournament at theAustralian Open and scored two wins, before losing to local favoriteStorm Hunter, in three sets.[3]

Šálková later played at two majors in 2024, lost in the second round of qualification atFrench Open andWimbledon.

Šálková got into the main draw atPrague Open for the first time as direct entry, beatingZeynep Sönmez in the first round, before retiring in the third set to eventual finalistMagdalena Fręch in the next round. Šálková entered doubles draw withBarbora Palicová for the third year in a row, reaching quarterfinal, where they withdrew because of Šálková´s injury.

Šálková played her maiden WTA 125 event inAngers where she won three matches, before losing to former world No. 4,Belinda Bencic, in the semifinals.

Šálková won two ITF Circuit titles in singles, her first at W75 level, and four doubles titles. Šálková finished her 2024 season ranked No. 164 in singles and 281 in doubles.
