The bassgehu (Chinese:低音革胡;pinyin:dīyīn géhú,pronounced[tíínkɤ̌xǔ]; also calleddigehu orbeigehu倍革胡, literally "bassgehu") is a Chinesebowedstring instrument in thehuqin family. It was developed by Yang Yusen along with thegehu in the 20th century. It has four strings and is the Chinese equivalent of thedouble bass.[1]
