TheDitomyiidae are a small (90 species)family offlies (Diptera).They are found worldwide (except in the Afrotropical Region), most species are found in theAustralasian andNeotropical realms.[1] There are only two genera in EuropeDitomyia Winnertz, 1846 andSymmerus Walker, 1848[2][3]Ditomyia is found in Central EuropeSymmerus in Northern EuropeSymmerus isendemic to thePalaearctic.[4]
