Dinwiddie is anunincorporated community,census-designated place (CDP), and thecounty seat ofDinwiddie County, Virginia, United States.[2][1] It was first listed as a CDP in the2020 census with a population of 619.[3]
The community was the site of theBattle of Dinwiddie Court House, theBattle of Five Forks as well as theBattle of Sutherland's Station during theAppomattox Campaign.
The community is near theInterstate 85 corridor, about halfway betweenRichmond and theNorth Carolina state line.
Dinwiddie first appeared as acensus designated place in the2020 United States census.[4]
Burnt Quarter, theDinwiddie County Court House, andWilliamson Site are listed on theNational Register of Historic Places.[5]
