Dileepan is an Indian actor, working in theTamil film industry. He made his film debut with the 2013 film,Vathikuchi.
He is a cousin of film directorA. R. Murugadoss.[1]
Dileepan made his debut as the protagonist in his cousin's production film,Vathikuchi (2013), oppositeAnjali.[2] The film, which revolves around an auto rickshaw driver who gets involved with gangsters and his life takes a turn for the worse, was released on 15 March 2013 to positive reviews from critics.
Dileepan achieved success in his next venture,Kaala (2018), directed byPa. Ranjith.[3] Dileepan portrayed the role of Rajinikanth's elder son Selvam, who joins his father Kaala in the crusade against land eviction inDharavi, Mumbai.Kaala to mixed reviews from critics.[4] His next film as a lead,Kuthoosi (2019), failed at the box office prompting Dileepan to take up supporting and minor roles in several films.[5]
