Diethelm Ferner (13 July 1941 – 7 November 2023) was a Germanfootball coach and player.[1] As a player, he spent eight seasons in theBundesliga withWerder Bremen andRot-Weiss Essen, winning the1964–65 Bundesliga with Werder Bremen.[2] He representedWest Germany in two friendlies.
As a coach Ferner helpedFC St. Pauli to its first promotion to theBundesliga.[3]
Ferner died on 7 November 2023, at the age of 82.[4]
