Richard Carl Westmoreland (born February 17, 1941) is an American former professionalfootball player who was adefensive back in theAmerican Football League (NFL). In 1963, he joined the AFL'sSan Diego Chargers. He played for the Chargers andMiami Dolphins for seven seasons and was anAFL All-Star selection in 1967. Westmoreland holds the Dolphins' team record for mostinterceptions in a season with 10 in 1967 (since tied withXavien Howard).[1]
