Dicentra canadensis, thesquirrel corn,[2] is aflowering plant from eastern North America with oddly shaped white flowers and finely divided leaves.
Squirrel corn has small yellow clusteredbulblets (looking roughly like kernels ofcorn), finely dissectedleaves, and white heart-shapedflowers. The flowers are fragrant.[3] It is aspring ephemeral, leafing out and flowering in spring and goingdormant in summer.
It is native todeciduouswoodland in easternNorth America. It is also found among rock outcrops near mountains.[4]
