Ze with descender orDhe (Ҙ ҙ; italics:Ҙ ҙ), is a letter of theCyrillic script. It is used in both theBashkir[1] andWakhi languages, where it represents thevoiced dental fricative/ð/ (like theth inthis) and thevoiced alveolar sibilant affricate/d͡z/ (like theds in lads) respectively. Its form is derived from theCyrillic letter Ze (З зЗ з). It is romanized asZ with acute ⟨ź⟩ for Bashkir, and corresponds withEzh ⟨ʒ⟩ in theLatin script of the Wakhi language and theShughni language.

The letter itself was introduced in 1939.
