Desmethylchlorotrianisene (DMCTA) is anonsteroidal estrogen which is thought to be the majoractive metabolite ofchlorotrianisene (CTA; TACE).[1][2] It is a 1:1mixture ofcis and transisomers.[1][2] DMCTA is produced from CTA via mono-O-demethylation catalyzed bycytochrome P450enzymes in theliver.[1][2] CTA is thought to act as a long-lastingprodrug of DMCTA.[1]
