Derek Bryan Philip Rickard (born 1 October 1947) is an English former professionalfootballer.
He played as aforward forFootball League clubsPlymouth Argyle andBournemouth.
Rickard joined hometown clubPlymouth Argyle in December 1969 as a 22-year-old, making his debut againstHalifax Town. He made an immediate impact and was voted as the club's player of the year in 1970, having been there just under six months.[1] He made 121 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 42 goals. His best season came in 1971–72 when he scored 14 goals in just 19 league appearances. He joinedBournemouth in 1974 and spent two years with the Cherries, making 32 league appearances.[2] After playing forBournemouth he played forFalmouth Town andSaltash United[3]
