Dennis Esteban Dominguez Baldivia (born February 9, 1962), popularly known asDennis Padilla (Tagalog pronunciation:[paˈdilja]), is a Filipino comedian, TV host, radio broadcaster and actor. He is the son of the lateDencio Padilla, and the father of actressJulia Barretto.

He was elected councilor ofCaloocan from 1998 to 2007.[1] In the2013 elections, he ran forBoard Member in his home province,Laguna but lost. Hispartymates in the3rd district includes actress and incumbent board memberAngelica Jones, (former ABS-CBN) journalistSol Aragones, first term congresswoman (Legislative District Representative), andER Ejercito, the incumbent governor of Laguna.

In 2017, Padilla was appointed as one of the board members of theMovie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).[2]

Personal life

Padilla has seven children. In 1990, Padilla separated from Monina Gatus, after having 2 children. Eldest, Luis Emmanuel Gatus Baldivia finishedPolitical Science and Government atDe La Salle University in 2013, earningMaster of Business AdministrationPublic Administration atUP Diliman in 2020. He works as associate project officer atDevelopment Academy of the Philippines. His eldest daughter is atrans woman, Diane Gatus with Diane Baldiva, born on January 2, 1990, and legally married Katx Balmes in USA.

With Padilla's mid-1990 relationship, he marriedMarjorie Barretto in 1995. EldestJulia Barretto was born in 1997, while Claudia Isabelle was born on July 26, 1999, who released her firstsingle "Stay" in 2017, signing withViva Artists Agency as a talent. She finishedBachelor of ArtsPsychology at theAteneo de Manila University in 2022. Leon Marcux was born on April 2, 2003, and is aDean's Lister, studyingMarketing atUniversity of Asia and the Pacific in 2023. Padilla and Marjorie Barretto separated in 2007, and their marriage was annulled in 2009.[3][4]

On August 1, 2014, Padilla, assisted by Attorney Jose Virgilio "JV" Bautista, filed with RTC, Branch 126,Quezon City, aPetition to Annul a Courtdecision which allowed Claudia Isabelle to use Barretto instead of Baldivia aslegal surname.[5]

In a 12 years romance, from 2009, Padilla's journey with former 2022Mrs. Universe Australia[6] Linda Marie Gorton ended in July 2020. Their son Gavin Simeon was born on August 29, 2012, graduatingkindergarten in 2017 at Castle Ville Academy in Project 7,Quezon City. Madelyn, the second child was born on November 30, 2016. In an April 12, 2024 interview withAster Amoyo, Padilla claimed theirco-parenting with child support, which Linda Gorton denied.[7] Padilla also has 2 stepdaughters Dani Barretto, ofKier Legaspi and Rizzi Gorton, Linda's child with a previous romance.[8] In 2019, Dani Barretto wed Xavi Panlilio with child Millie, born in 2019.[9]
