Dennis Olsen (born 14 April 1996) is aNorwegian racing driver who currently competes in theFIA World Endurance Championship forProton Competition and theGT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup forDinamic GT. He has previously competed full-time in theDeutsche Tourenwagen Masters andPorsche Supercup, and is a former Porsche Junior Driver and former member of theRed Bull Racing Simulator Development Program.[1] He was champion of thePorsche Carrera Cup Germany in2017.

Born inVåler, Norway, Olsen begankarting in his native Norway, aged six.[1][2] After winning numerous junior titles, he stepped up to theKF3 class in 2009, winning the Norwegian title. He retained his title in 2010, a year which also saw him finish second in theJunior Monaco Kart Cup and third in theGerman Junior Karting Championship.[citation needed] In 2011, Olsen won his third consecutive Norwegian KF3 title, the German KF3 championship and the WSK Cup FinalKF2 titles.[citation needed] For his final year of karting in 2012, he successfully defended his WSK Cup Final KF2 title and also won the prestigious GermanKF1 karting championship.[3]
Olsen began hissingle-seater career in early 2013, racing in theNew Zealand-basedToyota Racing Series, becoming the first Norwegian driver to enter the series. He finished the championship in thirteenth place, scoring a best race result of fifth in the final round of the series atManfeild.[4]
Olsen's main racing program for 2013 was in theFormula Renault 2.0 NEC championship, racing forGerman team Josef Kaufmann Racing.[5] He finished third in the standings, behind theBritishFortec Motorsports pairing of Jack Aitken andMatt Parry after taking three podium finishes.[6] He also recorded aPole position for the final race of the season atZandvoort, but the race was cancelled due to heavy rain.[7] He also contested a one-off round of theFormula Renault 2.0 Alps season atSpa-Francorchamps with theAV Formula team.[citation needed]
For 2014, Olsen graduated to theEurocup Formula Renault 2.0 championship withPrema Powerteam.[8] He finished second in the standings, behind championNyck de Vries, after taking three podium places including race wins at Spa-Francorchamps[9] and theNürburgring.[10] At the final round of the season inJerez, he finished second in the first race, a result that initially earned him the runner-up spot in the championship, but was later disqualified for a technical infringement.[11] He did, however, secure second in the championship the following day after finishing seventh in the final race of the season.[12]
Olsen also contested a partial campaign in theFormula Renault 2.0 Alps championship with Prema, taking six top-ten finishes in the six races he took part in.[citation needed]
Olsen remained in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 for a second season in2015, switching toManorMP Motorsport.[13]

In 2023, Olsen returned to theDeutsche Tourenwagen Masters for a second consecutive season. After completing the2022 season with SSR Performance, Olsen moved toManthey EMA for 2023.[14] With two podiums, he finished seventh in the standings, whilst teammateThomas Preining won the title. In addition, Olsen competed in theGT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup withRutronik Racing, sharing a Pro class entry withLaurin Heinrich and Preining.[15] There, one podium once again resulted in seventh place overall.[citation needed]
For 2024, Olsen would switch to become aFord factory driver, competing with the newFord Mustang GT3 forProton Competition alongsideMikkel O. Pedersen and bronze-ranked Giorgio Roda.[16] Following a slow start in the first three rounds, Olsen led the team towards its first podium of the season, finishing third at the24 Hours of Le Mans.[17][18]
2025 saw Olsen continue to compete inWorld Endurance Championship withProton Competition, driving the No. 88Ford Mustang GT3 alongsideStefano Gattuso andGiammarco Levorato.[19] With a best finish of second place atSpa, Olsen finished the season in 16th with 27 points.[20][21] He also drove forFord Multimatic inIMSA in the endurance rounds, paired withChristopher Mies andFrédéric Vervisch.[22] The trio gave the Mustang GT3 its first victory with a win in the season-openingRolex 24.[23] Olsen would also compete in theNürburgring 24 Hours forHRT Ford Performance as teammates withArjun Maini,Jusuf Owega, andFrank Stippler.[24] He would not finish following an incident at Flugplatz.[25]
