Denis Farrelly (18 September 1912 – 27 December 1974) was aFine Gael politician fromCounty Meath inIreland.[1] He was aTeachta Dála (TD) for 8 years, and then aSenator for five years.

A member ofMeath County Council from 1959, Farrelly was chairman of theNorth-Eastern Health Board from 1971 until his death.[2] He stood unsuccessfully as a Fine Gael candidate forDáil Éireann in theMeath constituency at the1954 general election and at aby-election in 1959, before winning the seat at the1961 election. He was re-elected in1965, but defeated at the1969 general election. He stood again in1973, but was not elected.[3]

After the loss of his Dáil seat 1969, he was elected to the12th Seanad Éireann on theIndustrial and Commercial Panel. He was returned in 1973 to the13th Seanad, and died in office in 1974, aged 62.[1]
