Delores Riley Oates is an AmericanRepublican politician from Virginia. She was elected to theVirginia House of Delegates in the2023 Virginia House of Delegates election from the31st district.
Oates was born inFront Royal, Virginia.[1] She graduated fromLord Fairfax Community College with anAAS inGeneral Studies in 1986.[1] She graduated fromRegent University with aB.A. in Government in 2017.[1]
Oates served on theWarren County Board of Supervisors from 2019 to 2023.[1] On May 5, 2023, she won the Republican party primary for theVirginia House of Delegates'31st district.[2] She was elected to the House in the2023 Virginia House of Delegates election held on November 7, 2023.[3]
In January 2025, she filed a bill to bantransgender students from participating inschool sports.[4]
