Delacroix is a crater onMercury. Its name was adopted by theInternational Astronomical Union in 1979. Delacroix is named for the French painterEugène Delacroix, who lived from 1798 to 1863.[1] The crater was first imaged byMariner 10 in 1974.[2]

Delacroix overlies the slightly larger and older craterShelley, to the south.[3]
