Dean Hurley is an Americancomposer,record producer,musician,sound designer,re-recording mixer andsongwriter.[1][2][3] He received twoPrimetime Emmy Award nominations for the third season ofTwin Peaks.[4] He is best known for his frequent collaborations with directorDavid Lynch.[5][6] Hurley has worked on several and different type offilms, as afilm score composer, sound supervisor, sound designer, re-recording mixer, sound mixer, and supervising sound editor. Notably he composed the film score of the 2023 feature filmDivinity, along withDJ and record producerDJ Muggs.[7]
He produced forthe Veils on their albumTotal Depravity (2016). In 2017, Hurley released the albumAnthology Resource Vol. 1: △△, which features original material created forTwin Peaks, and in 2019 he releasedAnthology Resource Vol. II: Philosophy of Beyond onSacred Bones Records.[8][9] He has worked with a variety of musicians aside from Lynch and the Veils, such as Romance,John Carpenter,Chromatics,Sky Ferreira,Zola Jesus, Gloria de Oliveira, Dlina Volny,Donovan, Trouble,Chrystabell, Jaye Jayle,Jorja Chalmers,Tiny Ruins,Sam Gendel, among others.
