Dean Patrick Caliguire (born March 2, 1967) is a formerAmerican football offensive lineman who played three seasons in theNational Football League (NFL) with thePittsburgh Steelers andSan Francisco 49ers . He was drafted by the 49ers in the fourth round of the1990 NFL draft . He playedcollege football at theUniversity of Pittsburgh and attendedMontour High School inMcKees Rocks, Pennsylvania .[ 1] Caliguire was also a member of theNew England Patriots .[ 2]
Caliguire played for thePittsburgh Panthers from 1985 to 1989, earningAssociated Press All-East team honors.[ 3] [ 4] [ 5] [ 6]
Professional career [ edit ] San Francisco 49ers [ edit ] Caliguire was selected by theSan Francisco 49ers of the NFL with the 92nd pick in the 1990 NFL Draft and signed with the team on July 29, 1990.[ 7] [ 8] He spent the1990 season on injured reserve.[ 9] He played in two games for the 49ers in 1991.[ 1] Caliguire was released by the 49ers on September 28, 1991.[ 10]
Pittsburgh Steelers [ edit ] On October 5, 1991, Caliguire was signed to the practice squad of thePittsburgh Steelers of the NFL.[ 11] He was promoted to the active roster on October 18, 1991.[ 12] He played in seven games for the Steelers during the1991 season .[ 1] Caliguire was released by the Steelers on August 31, 1992.[ 13] He signed with the Steelers on September 15, 1992.[ 14] He was released by the Steelers on November 3, 1992.[ 15]
New England Patriots [ edit ] Caliguire signed with the NFL'sNew England Patriots on February 17, 1993.[ 16] [ 17] He was released by the Patriots on June 3, 1993.[ 18]
