TheDawro are a people of southernEthiopia, also known as theOmete orKullo. They speak theDawragna language.
During the nineteenth century, the Dawro lived in an independent state known as the Kingdom of Dawro. In 2000, theDawro Zone was split off from the formerSemien Omo Zone in theSouthern Nations, Nationalities, and People's Region. It consists of theworedas ofIsara Tocha,Loma Bosa, andMareka Gena.
