David Sambissa (born 11 January 1996) is a professionalfootballer who plays as aleft-back orwinger forSüper Lig clubİstanbulspor.[1] Born in France, he played for theRepublic of the Congo national team before switching to theGabon national team.
He started his career withBordeaux, but played predominantly for their reserve squad in thefourth tier, with occasional appearances on the bench for the senior squad.[2]
After spending the 2016–17 season in thefifth tier with US Lège Cap Ferret, he moved to theNetherlands, signing withTwente. He didn't play for the main squad there either.
On 23 April 2018, he signed a one-year contract (with one-year extension option) with another Dutch club,Cambuur.[3]
He made hisEerste Divisie debut for Cambuur on 17 August 2018 in a game againstN.E.C., as a starter.[4]
On July 12, 2023, he signed withSüper Lig clugİstanbulspor.[5]
Born in France, Sambissa is of Gabonese and Republic of the Congo descent.[6] He was a youth international for France. He represented the seniorRepublic of the Congo national team in a friendly 1–0 win overNiger on 10 June 2021.[7]
In October 2021, he switched allegiances to join theGabonese national team for the2022 FIFA World Cup qualification games againstAngola on 8 and 11 October 2021.[8] He debuted with Gabon in a 2–02022 FIFA World Cup qualification win overAngola on 11 October 2021.[9]
