David O. Morgan (1945–2019) was a British historian who was professor emeritus of history at theUniversity of Wisconsin–Madison.[1] His bookThe Mongols is considered a standard in the field.[2] Originally published in 1986, a new expanded edition was published in 2007.[3]
Morgan wrote several books onMedieval history, particularly the subject of theMongol Empire. His previous functions involved being a reader in the history of theMiddle East at theSchool of Oriental and African Studies,London. He held a BA from theUniversity of Oxford and an MA and PhD from theUniversity of London.[1]
Morgan died on October 23, 2019.[4]
