David Andrew Brydon (born 27 June 1996)[1][2] is a New Zealandfield hockey player,[3] who plays as a defender.[4]

Personal life

David Brydon was born inChristchurch,New Zealand.[5] He currently lives inAuckland,New Zealand.

Career

National teams

Under-21

Brydon debuted for theNew Zealand U-21 team in 2016 at theJunior Oceania Cup on theGold Coast.[6] Later that year he went on to represent the team at theSultan of Johor Cup inJohor Bahru and theFIH Junior World Cup inLucknow.[7][8]

Black Sticks

Following his debut with the junior national team, David Brydon made his senior international debut with theBlack Sticks in late 2016, at theTrans–Tasman Trophy inAuckland.[9][6]

In 2017, Brydon won his first medal with the national team at theOceania Cup inSydney, winning a silver medal.[citation needed]

Brydon was also a member of the Black Sticks in theinaugural season of theFIH Pro League.[10]
