Davaoeño (Dabawenyo) is a language of theDavao Region ofMindanao in thePhilippines. According to Zorc (1977), it is a nativeMansakan language influenced byCebuano andTagalog.[2] Traditionally, it was the principal language of theDavaoeño people, but it is no longer spoken in Davao City as speakers have shifted to a local dialect of theCebuano language, calledDavaoeño Cebuano (and often just calledDavaoeño,Dabawenyo orBisaya).
The Davaoeño language and Davaoeño Cebuano are also not to be confused with the extinct Davaoeño dialect of theChavacano language that was once spoken in Davao (known asChavacano Davaoeño or simply Davaoeño).
