Danny O'Carroll (born 16 October 1983)[1][2] is an Irish actor and producer. He is best known for portrayingBuster Brady (associate of the son of matriarchAgnes Brown) on stage, and in theBBC andRTÉ television sitcomMrs. Brown's Boys.[3]
O'Carroll was born on 16 October 1983 inDublin.[4] He is the son ofBrendan O'Carroll, who plays Agnes Brown in the series,[5] as well as the brother ofFiona O'Carroll, nephew ofEilish O'Carroll, and stepson ofJennifer Gibney, all of whom also feature in the series.[6] As a teenager, O'Carroll was diagnosed withdyslexia, which his father and brother Eric were also diagnosed with around the same time.[7]
As well asMrs. Brown's Boys, O'Carroll also starred in and was an executive producer of theMrs. Brown's Boys D'Movie.[8]Channel 4 offered him an international travel series.[2] Due to family commitments, O'Carroll declined the opportunity to participate inDancing on Ice in2019.[9]
On 10 December 2024, O'Carroll was announced to be taking part in theeighth season of theIrish version ofDancing with the Stars.[10]
From 5 January 2026, O'Caroll began co-presenting an afternoon programme onHighland Radio.[11]
O'Carroll lives inCounty Donegal.[9] He is involved in fundraising for various causes, includingautism, mental health and childhood illnesses.[4][12][13][14][15]
O'Carroll married Amanda Woods in 2007. She portraysBetty Brown in Mrs. Brown’s Boys. They have two sons. In 2024, he appeared to confirm their separation by sharing a photo with his new partner.[16]
