Daniel John Lamb (born 7 September 1995) is an Englishcricketer, who plays forSussex.[1] Lamb is anall-rounder.
Lamb is fromPreston, Lancashire, England,[2] and attendedSt Michael's Church of England High School, Chorley.[1] His sisterEmma is also a cricketer.[3]
Lamb has played club cricket forBramhall in theCheshire County Cricket League,[4] andLeigh.[5]
In 2015, Lamb signed a scholarship deal withLancashire, having already featured in Second XI matches for them.[2] Lamb made hisList A debut for Lancashire in the2017 Royal London One-Day Cup on 14 May 2017.[6] He made hisTwenty20 debut for Lancashire in the2017 NatWest t20 Blast on 9 July 2017.[7] In June 2018, Lamb made hisfirst-class debut as aConcussion substitute forJoe Mennie.[8] He was the first concussion substitute in English cricket.[8][9] He made six appearances in the2018 t20 Blast, as Lancashire reached the finals day.[10] Later in same year, he signed a contract with Lancashire until 2020.[10][11]
In a 2019 match againstGlamorgan, Lamb took 4/70.[12] In April 2021, during the2021 County Championship match againstKent, Lamb scored his maiden century in first-class cricket with 125 runs.[13] In July 2021, in the2021 Royal London One-Day Cup, Lamb took his firstfive-wicket haul in List A cricket.[14]
