Danika Yarosh (born October 1, 1998)[1] is an American actress. She appeared in theShowtime seriesShameless and in theNBC seriesHeroes Reborn. She co‐starred withTom Cruise inJack Reacher: Never Go Back (2016).

Early life

Yarosh is a native ofBedminster, New Jersey, the daughter of Victor and Linda Yarosh. She has three siblings, an older sister, Amanda, who also acts, an older brother, Erik, and a younger brother, Peter.[2] Her father is a former member of theUnited States Air Force.[3]Yarosh spent her early years in Bedminster.

Career

Yarosh first appeared on film at the age of 5 as anextra inThe Stepford Wives (2004), starringNicole Kidman, which filmed in her home town.[4] She began studying acting and dance, first appearingoff-Broadway, and then won the role of ballet dancer Karen in the 2009Broadway production ofBilly Elliot at theImperial Theatre, when she was 10.[3]

Yarosh moved with her mother toLos Angeles at age 12, and began bookingbit parts on television, including the series30 Rock andLaw & Order: Special Victims Unit. She appeared in the 2012 film,The Color of Time, starringMila Kunis andJames Franco, playing the first love of poetC. K. Williams.[5] Yarosh then had recurring roles on theNick at Nite sitcomSee Dad Run, and theShowtime seriesShameless, replacingDove Cameron in the latter series. She postponed attending college full time when she was cast in theNBC sci-fi miniseriesHeroes Reborn.[3]

Yarosh played Samantha, the would-be daughter ofJack Reacher (Tom Cruise) in the 2016 action filmJack Reacher: Never Go Back. She starred oppositeErin Moriarty andHelen Hunt in the 2018 sports dramaThe Miracle Season. She played Caroline "Line" Found, a starIowa City West High School volleyball player, whose team went on to win the state championship after she was killed in a moped accident.[6] Yarosh was cast oppositeTeri Polo andDylan Walsh inForeign Exchange, a drama written byChris Sivertson.[7] She also appeared inBack Roads, a film directed byAlex Pettyfer. Yarosh joined the cast of theNetflix seriesGreenhouse Academy for its third season, replacing actressGrace Van Dien in the role of Brooke Osmond.[8] In 2019, she signed on to the second season of theUSA Network seriesThe Purge, recurring as college student Kelen Stewart.[9]
