Daniele Ghilardi (born 6 January 2003) is an Italian professionalfootballer who plays as acentre-back forSerie A clubRoma.
Ghilardi is a youth product ofLucchese from the age of 5 to 9 and played as agoalkeeper andstriker as a youth.[2] He moved toFiorentina'syouth academy at 9, worked his way up their youth categories, and signed his first professional contract with the club on 22 September 2021 until 2024.[3]
He joinedHellas Verona on loan with the option to buy in January 2022. Hellas Verona exercised the option for €500,000 on 16 July 2022.[4] He spent the 2022–23 season on loan withMantova 1911 in theSerie C.[5]
On 13 August 2023, he joinedSampdoria on loan in theSerie B for the2023–24 season with the option to buy.[6]
On 2 August 2025, Ghilardi joinedRoma on loan for the2025–26 season, for an estimated €2.5 million fee with a conditional obligation to make the move permanent at the end of the season. He signed a contract with Roma until 2030 that would be in effect if the conditions are triggered.[7]
Ghilardi is a youth international for Italy, having played for theItaly U20s at the2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup where they came in second.[8]
He was called up to theItaly U21s for a set of2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification matches in September 2023,[9] and he made his debut with the U21 side on 8 September in the match againstLatvia.
