Daniel Bozhilov Petrov (Bulgarian:Даниел Божилов Петров) (born 8 September 1971 inVarna) is aBulgarian formerboxer. He won a silver medal at theBarcelona Olympics in 1992 and a gold medal at theAtlanta Olympics in 1996 in the LightFlyweight category.
Petrov began his career inVarna, Bulgaria, but then went toSlavia (Sofia). He became a national champion several times. In 1993 he captured the European title inBursa, Turkey. Two years later, he won the world title at the1995 World Amateur Boxing Championships inBerlin,Germany, followed by the European title a year later inVejle, Denmark.
