Daniel Peacock (born 2 October 1958) is an English actor, director, writer and carer. He has worked with the team ofThe Comic Strip Presents... and played "Mental Mickey" inOnly Fools and Horses.[1]
Peacock was born on 2 October 1958 inHammersmith, London. He is the son of late actor and composerTrevor Peacock (who played Jim Trott inThe Vicar of Dibley) and Iris Jones and the half-brother of actorHarry Peacock (a regularStar Storiessatirist). He attendedAshmole School inSouthgate, London. As of 2024, he has four children and one grandchild.
He attended theCentral School of Speech & Drama before leaving early to pursue a career as a comedian in an act called the 'Diamond Brothers' with Liam Galvin. He worked as abluecoat for aPontins Holiday camp inSelsey, West Sussex in 1978.[citation needed]
Daniel has also had success as a television series writer credited withTeenage Health Freak (C4), Sister Said,Cavegirl (BBC) and other successful series. He also wrote and starred in the film Party Party.
In the early 1980s Daniel fronted a short lived band called The Wild Men of Wonga.
He moved into acting and writing and his credits as an actor include the following television series:Assaulted Nuts,The Young Ones,Little Armadillos,Only Fools and Horses,[1]Robin of Sherwood,The Bill,Doctor Who as Nord the Vandal in the serialThe Greatest Show in the Galaxy,[2]Casualty andOne Foot in the Grave.[3]
Peacock has also starred in the second series ofComing of Age as DK's estranged father who has just left prison.

He also played youngJacques Clouseau inTrail of the Pink Panther and he appeared inThe Jewel of the Nile as the special effects maestro.
He was one of the regular cast in Nick Hyde and Glen Cardno'sValentine Park for ATV Network starringKen Jones,David Thewlis andLiz Smith and wroteMen of the World starringJohn Simm andDavid Threlfall,Cavegirl,[6]Harry and Cosh,Mud,Very Big Very Soon for Central TV starringPaul Shane,Sheila White,Shaun Curry andTim Wylton, as well as adaptingTeenage Health Freak for TV. He voiced a Beeposaurus inThe Beeps.
He appeared in a series of musical adverts in the 1980s for theDo It All chain ofDIY stores[7] along with anotherComic Strip actor,Ron Tarr, and theBirds Eye Steakhouse advertisement featuring the song "We Hope It's Chips", sung to the tune of "Que Sera Sera".
Daniel also stars as a thug in "Billy's Christmas Angels" which was shown on Channel 4 in 1988 alongside Nabil Shaban and Steve Johnson.
His credits as a director include themetaseriesHarry and Cosh,Morris 2274,Billie: Girl from the Future andCavegirl.[6]
In 2014, Peacock made acameo appearance in his brotherHarry Peacock's comedy showToast of London.[8]
In 2015 he appeared in the sitcomMarley's Ghosts, which revolves around a woman called Marley Wise who finds she can communicate with the dead. The series first aired onGold in September 2015.[9]
In 2016, Peacock played the role of Maurice inSpencer Hawken'sNo Reasons.[10]
Since around 2019, Peacock has been working as alifestyles co-ordinator at Hastings Court Care Home in East Sussex, resulting in a nomination for a National Care Award in 2022.[11]
